Mr T.H. Lawrence the proposed that a Farmer's Association should be formed in Nelspruit consisting only of bona fide farming members. This was seconded by Mr Hugh Hall. Captain Elphick called for nominations for a secretary. Mr P Smith was elected. It was then decided to adjourn to allow Captain Elphick, representing his farmers association, and Messrs Lawrence, Bester, Hall and Watkinson negotiate a compromise.
After the adjournment, Mr Lawrence proposed and amalgamation under the name of "The Lowveld (NE) Farmers' Association" with its headquarters in Nelspruit. The proposal was generally accepted - allowing almost complete retention of the original name and leadership given to the Malelane Association while Nelspruit became the new home of the association.
The annual membership subscription was fixed at 10 shillings. Captain Elphick was elected as President with the remaining committee being made up of T H Lawrence, P Wilhelm, P Bester, H L Hall, T S Watkinson, R J Atmore, and J H Connaughton. The original honorary Presidents propsed were the Hon H.L. Hall M L A, the resident magistrate Barberton, Mr J L Grobler M P C, Sir George Farrar and Mr Percy Greathead. Mr P Smith was given the position of Secretary-Treasurer and Mrs. E Sheppard and Vogt were elected as honorary members.
